January 28, 2020 An earthquake of magnitude 7.7 ha has been recorded between the island of Cuba and Jamaica, at sea 10 km deep. The US geological agency Usgs reports.

Fear in Havana, the Cuban capital, where some buildings have been evacuated, as well as in several provinces of the island. The local media report it

"The earthquake - the media report - has been felt in many provinces, such as Guantanamo, Santiago de Cuba, Holguin, Las Tunas, Cienfuegos, Havana, Pinar del Rio and the municipality of Isla de la Juventud". According to the Cubadebate official information portal, no immediate damage is reported.

The earthquake was felt in Miami, Florida. The tsunami warning was issued and then returned.
