The Ministry of Health and Community Protection unveiled the latest innovation in the world to detect seasonal influenza A, B, to be the first in the use of the device in the Middle East, in cooperation with the American Abbot Park, where the device (Strep A 2) will perform an early and rapid examination For seasonal influenza type AB in a time not exceeding 13 minutes, and gives results in a maximum period of five minutes.
The device, which was presented by the Ministry at its participating platform at the Arab Health Exhibition and Conference 2020, will be available in Dubai at health facilities.
This innovative test, which has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), gives confidence to physicians to give the correct diagnosis and the ability to prescribe the appropriate treatment early. It also contributes to reducing the improper use of antibiotics, which can occur when treatment depends exclusively on the patient's symptoms, and contributes to antibiotic resistance.
