Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) grabbed 2nd place in the Monte-Carlo rally on Sunday morning, pushing Sébastien Ogier to 3rd, Elfyn Evans remaining at the head of the provisional classification at three stages of the end.

The Belgian driver won the first special of the four contested Sunday before the end of the midday rally in Monaco. It was the ascent of the famous Turini pass which the pilots will have to cover once before the end of the race.

Neuville made up a good part of its delay over Evans (Toyota), the Briton counting only 1.4 seconds before the 14th special of the rally. Ogier, also on Toyota, was relegated more than 6 seconds from the leader, 4.5 seconds behind Neuville.

The French, six-time WRC world champion, is trying to grab an 8th victory at Monte-Carlo when he has already announced that he will retire from the discipline at the end of the year.
