The "Bad Boys", their stunts and spectacular explosions keep the head of the North American box office, according to estimates published Sunday by the specialized company Exhibitor Relations.

"Bad Boys for Life", third installment of the famous police saga, collected $ 34 million from Friday to Sunday in Canada and the United States, thanks to an apparently timeless recipe: well-felt valves between the two accomplices Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.

Unlike his two big brothers "Bad Boys" (1995) and "Bad Boys 2", both directed by Michael Bay, this sequel is the work of the Belgians Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.

The film is ahead of the spectacular - and moving - war film by Sam Mendes "1917", one of the Oscar favorites with ten nominations. For its fifth week, it raised 15.8 million.

A remake completes the podium: "Dolittle", the story of this doctor capable of communicating with animals. After Rex Harrison in the 1967 version and Eddie Murphy in the more famous 1998 version, this time Robert Downey Jr. plays the good doctor.

Directed by Stephen Gaghan, this new version raised $ 12.5 million for its second week of operation.

Behind the top three are "The Gentlemen", with $ 11 million for its release, and "Jumanji: Next Level", with $ 7.9 million.

Here's the rest of the Top 10:

6. "The Turning": $ 7.3 million

7. "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker": $ 5.2 million

8. "Daughters of Doctor March": 4.7 million

9. "The way of justice": 4.1 million

10. "Knives pulled": 3.7 million
