The senator also expressed the hope that sooner or later "nationalist fervor will come to naught."

“Latvia cannot have such bad relations with its eastern neighbor. It will only benefit from interaction with Russia. It is necessary to take reasonable steps, and not act for the sake of those who want to ruin our relations, ”Jabarov concluded.

Earlier, Berzins expressed a proposal to reconsider the state’s attitude to the Russian language, emphasizing that it is spoken by a significant part of the country's population.
