“As the President of Turkey, I closely monitor the work in the earthquake zone. All our services, primarily the Office of Emergency Situations and Natural Disasters and the Red Crescent Society, are with our people, ”Erdogan wrote on his Twitter.
He emphasized that rescue and medical services are taking all necessary measures to eliminate the consequences of natural disasters and ensure the safety of citizens.
The heads of the Ministry of the Environment and Urban Planning, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Health of the Republic left for the state of emergency.
The Turkish president also expressed condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to those affected by the earthquake.
Earlier it was reported that in the Turkish provinces of Elazig and Malatya, 14 people were killed and 57 injured.
According to the embassy, there are no Russians among the affected.
