The other two reports that have been made in Linköping and Finspång have been attempted to pay for food and tobacco products with counterfeit banknotes, police say.

The number of counterfeit banknotes is becoming more common, police say on their site. In 2015, around 300 counterfeit banknotes were investigated at the National Forensic Center in Linköping. During the first eight months of 2019, 700 banknotes were examined.
