- In today's society we have an excess of information, a constant rush of news. We want to help the audience sort, and get the most important news presented in a short and concise manner. At the same time, we delve into other relevant topics from different perspectives, says Anne Lagercrantz, division manager for SVT News and Sport, about the new initiative.
In recent years, SVT News has gone from being in 27 to 37 local locations. And within the next few years, the number will increase to 45. This year, SVT extends its coverage to three locations - Arvidsjaur, Skövde and Nyköping.
Expanded presence in poorly guarded areas- In general, local journalism is under pressure. That is why we are expanding our presence in poorly monitored areas, and in this way we can sharpen our local news coverage and reach more. SVT should reflect the whole of Sweden, says Anne Lagercrantz.
