The power outage occurred around 9 pm and according to comments on Karlstad Municipality's social media, it was powerless in areas such as Norrstrand, Hagaborg, Sjöstad, parts of Rud and Kronoparken.
The power returned to most affected areas after just over 15 minutes.
- It could be any place that is still without. We have staff who are out and about, but we still do not know what it is due to, says Jonas Persson, CEO of Karlstad's electricity and city networks.
