28 December 201923.00 The oldest black rhino in the world died in Tanzania at the age of 57. This was announced by the managers of the Ngorongoro conservation area where the animal lived, a female specimen named Fausta. Fausta would have died of natural causes on December 27, after having lived most of her life "in freedom". She had been transferred to captivity only in 2016, after having suffered serious injuries from the attack of a pack of hyenas. Before Fausta the primacy had been of Sana, a female of white rhino.
