Dubai Hospital succeeded in performing surgery to remove prostate enlargement, using one of the latest laser treatment techniques in the world, "Thulium Laser", which the Health Authority recently introduced, as part of its plan to develop and modernize the hospital's urology department.

A consultant in urology and robotic surgery at Dubai Hospital, Dr. Yasser Al-Saeedi, confirmed to «Emirates Today» that the modern technology enabled doctors to perform the operation with a success rate of 100%, without causing loss of quantities of the patient’s blood, as it reduced the need for blood transfusion for him To 5% instead of the 20% that he needed in previous conventional methods.

And he explained that the operation was performed by conventional surgery to remove the enlarged part, and it required the patient to stay 10 days under follow-up, until the matter developed after that for doctors to perform surgery using an electric knife through laparoscopy, and between 20 and 30% of patients who underwent tumor removal using Modern technology to transfer blood after the operation, and to stay between three and five days under care.

He added that the new technology is a revolution in traditional methods, where the doctor was able to remove inflation, whatever its size, without losing the patient's blood.
