An Israeli analyst said that UAE leaders are ready to take relations with Tel Aviv from secrecy to the open, and that opening an Israeli embassy in Abu Dhabi is no longer a distant dream.

This came in the weekly article of Jackie Hoge, an analyst for Arab affairs on Israeli army radio, published by the newspaper "Maariv" on Friday, under the title "Warm relations between Israel and Abu Dhabi."

Hawji said that it was not difficult this week to miss the exchange of smiles between Israel and the UAE, and it was not we who started.

Abdullah bin Zayed Tweet
The book touched on the publication of Emirati Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed - last Saturday in a tweet on Twitter - an article from the British magazine "Spectator", which touched on Arab-Israeli rapprochement recently.

Hawji added that the Emirati minister did not add a single word, "It was clear from the tweets that he was trying to say something without expressing it explicitly."

He continued it was the elegant way of Abdullah bin Zayed - the younger brother of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed - "to wave us peace."

He considered that the Emirati minister's tweet was well studied before its publication, and also about its timing, pointing out that Arab leaders are not rushing to publicly flirt with Israel.

Hawji said of Abdullah bin Zayed's tweet that she did not surprise anyone in Israel, noting that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed it.

Netanyahu comments
Netanyahu said at the start of the government session on Sunday: "Yesterday we saw another expression of the rapprochement of relations between Israel and the Arab countries. Emirati Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed talked about a new alliance in the Middle East."

Netanyahu added, "I cannot disclose to you the details of all the steps I have taken with my comrades over the years. I can only say that this statement is the result of the maturity of many contacts and efforts."

According to Hawji, the signs show that the two sides are making contacts to bring their secret relations into the open.

"We should not be surprised if the Israeli government soon announced the opening of a diplomatic mission in Abu Dhabi," he added.

He pointed to the existence of commercial and diplomatic relations between Israel and the UAE, and visits to academic and sports delegations.

"Next year, the Expo 2020 will be held in the UAE, and the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs will have an official pavilion there," he said.

He added, "It is possible to see a quartet alliance there," explaining, "The UAE has strong ties, such as Israel with Washington and also with Cairo. Four countries are united in their hatred of Iran and jihadist organizations."

He added that the talk does not revolve around a story of cross-border love between Abu Dhabi and Israel, but "it is more appropriate to see it as a working relationship that allows the two parties to achieve beneficial profits."

He added that Israel would win an entry ticket to a vibrant economic market and a clear presence in the rich and vibrant Gulf region, while UAE leaders would have an alliance with a regional power.

He explained that there is a well-known rule that hides in such established relationships, and that what appears publicly is only part of what is happening beneath the surface.

"It was interesting to see how the official envoys from the Al Nahyan family distributed congratulations on Eid Al-Anwar (Jewish Hanukkah holiday from December 22 to December 30) as a disciplined military confidentiality, as the UAE embassies in London, Paris and Washington and their consulate in New York were deployed, One after the other, the picture of al-Madinah al-Munawwarah (the candlestick), and congratulated the Jews on the occasion of Eid.

"Are we going to have the Hanukkah candles lit in Abu Dhabi next year?" He asked.
