The Dubai Government Excellence Program of the General Secretariat of the Executive Council held the final meeting for the exchange of knowledge for the third cycle of the “Dubai Learning Learn” initiative, with the participation of 10 projects representing 10 different government agencies.

The “In Dubai We Learn” initiative aims to foster a culture of institutional learning, transfer and exchange of knowledge in the government sector in Dubai through a set of reference comparison projects that are implemented through working teams from each participating government agency, so that the program team provides specialized training to the work teams, in addition to Follow-up of project implementation for a year, and the success stories of participating projects are documented in a specialized site for reference comparisons and best practices.

The event witnessed the official launch of the book of the second session of the initiative, preceded by a speech by the General Coordinator of the Dubai Government Excellence Program Dr. Hazaa Al-Naimi, and a panel discussion in the presence of Professor Ditan Adebangu from Greenwich University in the United Kingdom, and expert in government administration and digital transformation at the Asian Development Bank in the Philippines Arendt Hsar, and Director The Singapore Productivity Center was Dr. Won Konkhang, and the session was moderated by Senior Project Manager at Dubai Government Excellence Program Khaled Belhoul.

The Secretary-General of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, Abdullah Al Basti, valued the initiative’s role in preparing the national cadres capable of keeping pace with the emirate’s ambitions and achieving its vision for the future, in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the continuing directives of His Highness Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, aimed at consolidating the culture of excellence in government work and raising it towards new entrepreneurial horizons.

24 projects

In its two previous sessions, the “In Dubai Learn” initiative contributed to the development of 24 projects to enhance institutional performance, contributed to financial savings of up to 100 million dirhams, where six training sessions were attended by 130 trainees who received a certificate in the field of institutional learning and benchmarking, they contributed to Launching several development and improvement projects in their employers using the learning methodology of international best practices.
