It was the hardest fight, in absolute, which I have never faced. And the best thing is that I managed to win this battle ", describes the former tennis champion. "When they told me, a few days ago, I exploded with happiness, and even today I live with happiness. I can cut it with a knife. I am ready - explains the Milanese tennis player - to face the new projects I had but not I could realize. We will meet again soon, happy with what I am today. " They are shocking words, those that Francesca Schiavone used to give the news via social media of her illness, defeat.

In the post, Schiavone adds: "I did the chemotherapy, fought the battle and now I'm breathing again. I won this fight. And now I'm back in action".

Schiavone was the first Italian to win a Slam, Roland Garros in 2010, and the only Italian to have reached the quarters in all four majors. The tennis player also boasts three Fed Cups won with Italy and was also number 4 in the world. It retired at the end of 2018.
