Goods exports from Stockholm to the UK are valued at around SEK 17 billion. And the British account for about 421,000 guest nights in Stockholm County during one year, according to the Chamber of Commerce's report. At the same time, around 90,000 Swedish citizens live in the UK, while 29,000 Britons live in Sweden, 40 percent of them in Stockholm County.
- It is unquestionable that the UK is an economically very important trading partner where the exchange contributes to growth and prosperity in Sweden and Stockholm. In the long term, we need a new trade agreement so that Swedes and Brits can work and trade across borders even beyond the Brexit agreement, says Stefan Westerberg, senior economist at Stockholm Chamber of Commerce.
