It was Sunday that Tommy Sjöberg and his family would eat Christmas dinner. Then the wife suddenly stumbled and fell handslessly to the floor. Fortunately, there were healthcare professionals among the guests at the restaurant.

- She hit her head and her arm turned out to be completely below her shoulder, says Tommy Sjöberg.

Waited two hours for ambulance

They called SOS and asked them to send an ambulance, but it was delayed.

- There she lay on the floor for about two hours. She had terrible arm pain, says Tommy Sjöberg.

Once the wife came to Sundsvall's hospital, it turned out that there was not room for all patients. The next day the doctors said that she had to be moved to Örnsköldsvik - 15 km away.

- They told my wife that she was one of the chosen ones, says Tommy Sjöberg.

Shipped to Örnsköldsvik

His wife was one of those who had to go to Örnsköldsvik's hospital. She refused, but an older woman eventually succeeded in persuading.

- It was eleven in the evening, they had fallen asleep and they came and woke them up. They had to dress up for her and she had to sit down and wait for her to be transported to Örnsköldsvik, says Tommy Sjöberg.

He thinks the hospital staff is doing a fantastic job, but he is critical of how responsible politicians act on the healthcare issue.
