The alarm came at 23.57 on Thursday evening. A transformer at the railroad had for some reason started to leak.

- The emergency services have been there and assisted the Swedish Transport Administration during the time they have repaired. They have taken care of the leak and cleaned up. In total, the container must contain one and a half cubic meters of transformer oil and some of it has leaked. There has been no fire and it was a short-term traffic stop, says Jonathan Jansson, team leader at SOS-Alarm

The fog usually goes

On Friday morning, the Swedish Transport Administration states that this type of facility is located along railway lines throughout the country and has to do with the power supply to the contact lines. The incident does not affect train traffic during the morning.

- From our side it is finished and clear. The fog usually goes. says Denny Josefsson, press communicator at the Swedish Transport Administration.

Notification of environmental crime

According to the police, it must have been a considerable amount of oil that leaked and since it is an environmentally hazardous substance, the matter will be investigated further.

- We have been there and documented. An environmental crime notification has been prepared, so we will see if it will be the end or whether it will end up being considered an accident, says Jan Matérne, police officer of the Bergslagen police region.
