Switzerland's Marco Odermatt on Friday won the Super-G in Beaver Creek, Colorado, signing the first World Cup victory ahead of Norwegian Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, Austrian Matthias Mayer and Frenchman Alexis Pinturault, 4th.

Odermatt, five-time junior world junior champion, confirms his potential at 22 years old for his second season. Rather than technical races than those of pure speed, he had so far finished 2nd in Giant Soldeu and 3rd in Kranjska Gora in March.

In the overall standings of the World Cup, Mayer consolidates his dominance (221 pts) ahead of the Italian Dominik Paris (182), 12th of this Super-G, and Odermatt (170). Pinturault (150) remains 5th, just behind Kilde (152).
