December 06, 2019The special commissioners of Alitalia left the office and in their place the lawyer Giuseppe Leogrande was identified as sole commissioner. This is what the Ministry of Economic Development says.

Thanks from Patuanelli
"I want to thank the three commissioners Daniele Discepolo, Enrico Laghi and Stefano Paleari for their work in a critical situation and for the institutional sensitivity shown in recent months in the management of a complex dossier, which unfortunately did not lead to a definitive market solution for the company ". Thus the Minister Stefano Patuanelli.

"Thanks also go to the new commissioner, Giuseppe Leogrande, for having accepted the position. Together with him, the state will have to act to allow the definitive re-launch of Alitalia".

The bridge loan
In recent days the green light had arrived from the Council of Ministers to the ad hoc law decree for the free bridging loan to Alitalia. The Council of Ministers thus gave the go-ahead for the norm necessary to ensure the continuity of the company.

In the past few days, after Atlantia's step back, the offer that was expected from the consortium of Fs with Delta, Mef and the motorway manager failed, so the Government decided to intervene to ensure continuity of operations at least for six months. Certainly until May 2020.

With the law decree entitled 'Urgent measures to ensure the continuity of the service performed by Alitalia', the Executive wanted to provide a new loan of 400 million euros, already provided for by the fiscal decree, which are added to the 900 million already granted previously.

A 'reorganization and efficiency plan' is envisaged in order to arrive, then, at the disposal that is functional to the determination, by 31 May 2020, of the "transfer of the company complexes" to new management.
