• Palma: 12 young people from Arran are accused of protesting against tourism in the port
  • Palma Arran anti-tourist attack against a restaurant and several yachts

The Prosecutor's Office asks for a total of 29 years in prison for the 12 Arran militants for the protest organized in the port of Palma in July 2017 against the tourist overcrowding.

In its brief, the Public Prosecutor asks for sentences of between two and four years in jail and charges them with crimes of public disorder.

Specifically, eight of them are asked for two years in jail; after three, three years for recidivism, and one last defendant, he asks for four years in jail, by way of authorship.

The protest ceremony took place at Moll Vell and in it its participants displayed banners, lit flares and threw confetti on the terrace of a restaurant. Subsequently, Arran disseminated a video of the act on their social networks.

In the Prosecutor's brief it is also reported that there was no need to regret material damage because the smoke boats were removed by third parties outside the demonstration

In a statement signed by Arran and Solidarity Alert, they consider that the judicial process is a new case of "criminalization" of "organized youth and the fight" against the tourism model in Mallorca.

It should be remembered that in August 2019, Arran took an action against the rental cars. In the video published to promote the performance you see how they paint, puncture the wheels and break the front moon with a hammer to several vehicles.
