Melanie Hene of France won her first individual international title, 50m butterfly, ahead of her compatriot Beryl Gastaldello, at the European Short Course Swimming Championships, Thursday in Glasgow (Scotland).

Hénique (26), already author of the best time of the series and the semi-finals, won in 24 sec 56, new record of France. Gastaldello (24) finished the race in 24 sec 78.

Until then, Hene had never risen higher than on the third step of international podiums, both in small and large pool. For Gastaldello, this is the first-ever individual international medal.
