According to Syromolotov, Carter’s remarks are yet another attempt to convey to the inhabitants of Britain “a crafty and, at the same time, extremely dangerous idea that the policy pursued by Russia could lead to an armed confrontation with Great Britain”.
“Of particular concern is the fact that such a lightweight attitude to the formulations used is demonstrated by a senior military official,” he said.
In October, the Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands also announced the alleged conduct of a cyber war with Russia.
An official spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said after that that Russia was “unaware” of cyber warfare with the Netherlands.
