“Such discriminatory steps by the Latvian authorities against Russian media resources - outspoken attempts to clean up the information space from alternative, and perhaps objectionable points of view, are a gross violation of international law in terms of freedom of expression and equal access to information,” Zakharova said.

She called on relevant international structures, non-governmental organizations to respond to these actions of the Latvian authorities.

Earlier, the Permanent Mission of Russia to the OSCE commented on the decision of the Latvian authorities to suspend the broadcast of nine Russian channels.
