Security forces have regained control of the Al-Ahrar bridge, which is in the center of Baghdad leading to the Green Zone. In the south, demonstrators blocked roads leading to oil fields.

Demonstrations and sit-ins continue in Baghdad and a number of southern provinces to demand political and economic reforms and fight corruption.

Al-Jazeera correspondent said that hundreds of demonstrators, including school and university students, flocked to Tahrir Square in central Baghdad to participate in the protests.

This comes after a number of protesters were suffocated after security forces fired tear gas near al-Ahrar bridge in the center of the capital.

Security forces kept protesters away from the bridge linking al-Khalani Square to the Green Zone in central Baghdad, where government, parliament and foreign missions are based.

The protesters began a sit-in on the bridge the day before in an attempt to go towards the Green Zone.

Cutting methods
In the south, local sources in Basra reported that demonstrators blocked the road to Rumaila oil fields.

Local press reports ceased operations to export oil in the port of Khor Al-Zubair on Tuesday, after the closure of roads leading to the city by demonstrators.

Since the start of the protests, 336 people have been killed and 15,000 wounded in different areas, according to figures from the Parliamentary Human Rights Commission, the Human Rights Commission and medical and human rights sources.

The political forces had given the government until Monday night, 45 days to reform the political process and a reshuffle and solve the problems of unemployment and appointment in ministries and government companies.

The government immediately began preparing for a cabinet reshuffle, an amendment to the electoral system, the dissolution of the election commission, and amendments to the Constitution and other matters.

Demonstrators mock 45 days and question whether a government can do what it has not done in 16 years.
