The person came to the short-term residence in the spring, after being injured in a fall at home. They were then very worried and were initially given prescribed medication that could be given if needed to reduce the anxiety. But the effect did not occur and a sedative drug was added regularly.

Only when relatives of the resident responded that he could no longer eat himself, drooled, no longer responded to accusations or could stand up anymore, then the medication was followed up.

Then it was found that the person was severely affected by the medication and a reduction of the drug began, which led to the patient becoming more similar again.

The incident has been reported to the Inspectorate for Health and Care, IVO, according to lex Maria. According to the report, the staff had no control over how affected the patient was, as follow-up and effect were not documented.
