In early August, a 20-year-old man was attacked with a sharp object in Timrå. The incident originated in a drug store that for some reason went awry.

The 20-year-old was taken by his friends to the emergency room at Sundsvall Hospital. There it was found that he was stabbed with a sharp object which, among other things, damaged the liver and a lung.

Scissors in the water

The police were able to quickly call in two other Timrå residents as suspects of the crime. One of them, in an interrogation, pointed out a place at Vivstavarvstjärnen where he saw the other throw a knife into the water. Police divers found several metal items there, including a pair of scissors that appeared to have been thrown in recently.

In mid-September, both suspects were indicted, a 23-year-old for attempted murder and a 19-year-old for assisting in attempted murder.

Sentenced to prison

Sundsvall district court has now found that the 23-year-old stabbed the 20-year-old with a sharp object, probably the scissors found. The damage this caused was life-threatening. But in order for the 23-year-old to be convicted of murder, there must be intent to kill, something the district court believes has not been proven.

The 23-year-old is therefore convicted of gross misdemeanor and calling drug offenses to prison for three years. The 19-year-old is convicted of minor drug offenses, violations of the knife law and firearms offenses for youth care.
