The statement was published due to media reports about difficulties with transplant operations for children.

It is indicated that the Academician V.I. National Medical Research Center for Transplantology and Artificial Organs Shumakova is one of the leading global clinics in transplantology profile.

Specialists working there, as noted, successfully transplant organs to children, regardless of body weight and age, and the total experience of such operations is more than 1000.

“As for the pediatric surgeon Kaabak, until recently he carried out his activities at the Children's Health Center of the Russian Ministry of Health on the basis of external part-time jobs and was issued at 0.25 rates,” the statement said.

It is indicated that during the period of his work 21 operations were carried out with his participation.

The Ministry of Health emphasized that clinical recommendations and protocols are developed by a specialized expert community and approved collectively at all-Russian meetings and congresses.

The department said that every child who needs surgery to transplant a liver or kidney will be provided with treatment in full.

Earlier, doctor Mikhail Kaabak commented on his dismissal. According to him, claims were made against his treatment methods.

In particular, he spoke about the use of alemtuzumab for transplantation, which weakens the immune system so that the transplanted organ is not rejected by the body.
