For the club, investing is part of having an inclusive sports culture.

- It feels fun and interesting to be part of this development of HV71's operations. We hope the interest is built on and that more people take the chance to test on, says club director Agne Bengtsson in a press release.

The first training takes place now on Sunday and everyone who wants is welcome to attend.

- The great thing about parahockey is that you don't have to be handicapped to play. Everyone is welcome, says Max Gyllsten, who plays in the national team and in the HV71 parahockey team.

"Step in the right direction"

The investment is made in collaboration with the Smålands Paraidrotförbund and Smålandsidrotten. HV71 thus becomes the first SHL club in Sweden to incorporate parahockey in its operations.

- I am very happy that HV71 does this. There is currently no direct club activity in Sweden and we have had a hard time getting new players. But this is a big step in the right way, says Max Gyllsten.
