Region Halland can get a new system for medical records in five years

The system will also replace the drug management system NTS.

The background is that Region Halland needs to introduce a new, coherent health information support for the Dutch health care system, in order to meet today's rate of digitization and the residents' future expectations of accessibility and need for health care.

The idea is that the system will start rolling out in mid-2024 and be clear by 2025.

Until then, Region Halland will continue to require that the health centers in the county use VAS.

In December, a formal decision is made by the regional council.
