Two cars with a total of five people were involved in the accident. SOS Alarm received the alarm call at 16.46.

Three people were trapped. All involved were taken to hospitals. The Dalarna Region reports that two people have suffered serious injuries. The other three have suffered minor injuries. All involved are adults.

One of the cars ended up in the ditch and the other remained on the road after the accident. Four ambulances were called to the scene as well as emergency services from Mora and Älvdalen. 15 people from the rescue service participated in the rescue work.

"Slippery, snowy and brave"

The road conditions were very poor according to the rescue service.

"It's terribly bad road conditions, it's slippery, snowy and brave," said Johan Szymanski, fire chief at the Northern Dalarna Fire Brigade.

At 18.30 the rescue service announced that the rescue operation itself has ended.

"We are waiting for recoverers with the police," says Johan Szymanski.
