A total of 3-3 against IK Frej and more goals on away ground made the team through the qualifying spot once again up in the Superettan for the first time since 2012. A sporting success for Umeå FC who had the goal of reaching the second best series in Sweden.

But the advancement also involves a push for the club's finances. For next year's season, the distribution of money in Swedish elite football will change, which means that both clubs in Allsvenskan and Superettan get more money and that clubs in division 1 get less.

If the UFC had failed to step up this year, however, it would not have been an economic disaster, says Sports Manager Danny Persson.

- Absolutely not, we have not invested money we do not have. It feels stable no matter what has happened, he says.
