Shoigu is expected to lead the Russian delegation at the sixth meeting of the Russian-Egyptian commission on military-technical cooperation.
“The main topics of the upcoming talks will be issues of international and regional security, the situation in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as priority topics of Russian-Egyptian military and military-technical cooperation,” the RT press release said.
Earlier in Egypt, the first joint Russian-Egyptian exercises of the Air Defense Forces “Arrow of Friendship 2019” were held.
At the end of June, Shoigu announced Russia's readiness to assist Egypt in strengthening security and maintaining stability in the region.
