On Saturday, at least two elderly people received calls from a fraudster who claimed to be their grandchild. The man has said he needed money and then stated that "a friend comes and fetches the money".

One of the victims collected SEK 13,000 from an ATM and when the man visited the home address the money was handed over.

On the second occasion, the man was unable to access any cash.

"He did not succeed in persuading the person, who understood that it was not the granddaughter who called," says Katarina Rusin, press informant at the police.

The police are now calling on elderly people to be vigilant on this type of call.

Two notifications have now been made, fraud and attempted fraud.
