“We will continue to pursue a course so that the approaches of the international community and, above all, Western countries to the Sudanese problem are impartial and objective, based on respect for the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of the country,” he said during a meeting with the chairman of the Supreme Council Republic of Sudan Abdel Fattah al-Burhan in Sochi. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

Sudan is Russia's long-standing reliable partner, Putin added.

He noted that the Russian side is considering the signing of a constitutional declaration, the formation of a supreme council and the creation of a transitional government as the first steps to bring the country onto a development trajectory.

Earlier, Russian Ambassador to Sudan Vladimir Zheltov on the sidelines of the Russia-Africa Economic Forum and Summit said that the situation in the African country has stabilized.
