17 October 201923.00 The 67-year-old arrested in France, in Poitiers, for having committed a rape 21 years ago was betrayed by a candy wrapper. The 'cold case' was solved thanks to an investigation into a trivial theft in a carpentry shop in Vienne, in the south of France. Analyzing the traces of DNA taken from the scene, the gendarmes discovered that one of them, detected on a candy wrapper, coincided with the DNA of an unknown rapist who had been included in the national database over 20 years ago.
