Earlier, the court sentenced Zakharchenko to 13 years in prison and a fine of 117 million rubles. He was also stripped of his rank. On one of the charges, Zakharchenko was acquitted.

Valery Tunnikov’s lawyer, representing the former deputy head of the T department of the anti-corruption head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of ex-Colonel Dmitry Zakharchenko, said that ten complaints had been filed with the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in connection with her client’s case.
