72.71% of the vote is the official score of Kaïs Saïed in Tunisia. The new president won hands down. His prerogatives are limited to defense and diplomacy. For the rest, it is the Parliament that keeps the hand and should dictate the next political calendar.

Eyes are now turning to the assembly from the October 6 election. The negotiations started behind the scenes, Ennahdha at the maneuver. The Islamist-inspired party, with 52 seats in the assembly, is the country's leading political force. It is towards this formation that the President of the Republic must turn next month, to entrust him with the task of appointing a Prime Minister and then form a government by the beginning of next year.

Independents very courted

This government will have to collect a majority, 109 votes minimum, during a vote of confidence in the assembly. But by assembling compatible political families, no majority coalition is emerging. The independents, who occupy the third of the hemicycle, are therefore currently very courted.

The election of Kais Said could facilitate negotiations. The undeniable legitimacy of the new president, born of any political party, could change the game and alliances, at his request, could overcome party divisions.

The majority he needs to bring his ideas could in the coming weeks, take shape, pushed by the popular background of which he benefited.

On his twitter account, he urged them to overcome their differences and reactivate the Maghreb Union. He also announced that his first trip would be to Algiers and that he would visit Libya.
