Today, the Riksbank itself decides which inflation target should apply. According to the Riksbank's forthcoming proposal, politicians will have more influence over the target, which is currently at two percent.

- The Riksbank must submit proposals, but the Riksdag will decide on this, says the Left Party's Johan Lönnroth to Svenska Dagbladet.

Payroll has been in the investigation, which for over two years has worked with how the Riksbank should be governed in the future.

"Think it leads to better social development"

Another suggestion, according to Lönnroth, is that the Riksbank should be able to take financial stability into account when determining interest rates. Today, only inflation is controlling.

- We believe it will lead to better social development, not just to add one hundred percent weight to make inflation exactly two percent. Without taking into account also how the labor market is affected by monetary policy, says Mats Dillén, who leads the Riksbank investigation, to SVT.

Other proposals are that the number of members of the Riksbank management be lost from six to five.

The committee will present the proposals to the government at the end of October. Johan Lönnroth will make his own reservation. Inflation will continue to be too controlling for interest rates, says the left-wing party, who also wants employment to play a role.
