In the project # the silence, news media in Västerbotten, with the help of a joint opinion poll conducted by Ipsos, could tell that only half of employees in municipalities and health care in Västerbotten dare to criticize their employers publicly for serious ill-treatment.

The survey, conducted on behalf of the media, also showed that only half of the public employees surveyed knew what freedom of communication is - and only one in eight had received information from their employer about freedom of communication. Furthermore, about a third of those who participated in the survey responded that they would dare to turn to the media in case of serious misconduct.

"Not good enough"

- This is not enough, says Skellefteå's opposition councilor Andreas Löwenhöök (M), who has now written an interpellation with a number of questions to the municipal council Maria Marklund (S) who is chairman of the Skellefteå municipality's staff committee.

He wonders, among other things, if the staff committee intends to try to do something to ensure that the staff is informed about their constitutionally protected rights.

Marklund will answer the questions at the City Council meeting on October 29.
