October 07, 2019The White House has announced that Turkey is preparing to invade northern Syria, renewing fears about the fate of Kurdish fighters allied with the United States in the ISIS war. The announcement was made by Stephanie Grisham, head of communications at the White House, in a statement released after a telephone conversation between Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan and American president Donald Trump.

"We are determined to ensure the security of Turkey by cleaning up the region from the presence of terrorists. We will contribute to bringing security, peace and stability to Syria ". This is what the head of Turkish diplomacy, Mevlut Cavusoglu, writes on Twitter this morning after the latest news on the imminent new Turkish military operation in the northeast of the Arab country." We supported the territorial integrity of Syria since the beginning of the crisis (in 2011) and we will continue to do so, "adds the Foreign Minister of Turkey.

Have supported the territorial integrity of #Syria since the beginning of the crisis and will continue to do so. Determined to ensure survivability and security of #Turkey by clearing the region from terrorists. Will contribute to bringing safety, peace & stability to Syria.

The withdrawal of US forces from the area
US military forces in northern Syria have begun to withdraw from areas along the border with Turkey. The Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights make it known. The latter confirms the withdrawal from key positions in Ras al-Ain and Tal Abyad.

The Kurds: we will defend the territory at all costs
And accusations come to the Americans from the Democratic Forces of Syria, the Kurdish-Arab alliance of the FDS, after the latest news on the imminent new Turkish military operation in the northeast of the Arab country. "Despite the agreement on the security mechanism - reads a tweet by Mustafa Bali, spokesman for the FDS in northern Syria - American forces have not respected their commitments and have begun to withdraw from the border between Syria and Turkey, leaving that the area becomes a war zone ". "But - adds the tweet - the FDS are determined to defend the north-east of Syria at all costs".

In spite of the #securitymechanism deal and following destruction of fortifications, the US forces began to withdraw from a war zone. But SDF is determined to defend NE Syria at all costs.
