Seven schools and three kindergartens, in the eastern region, dismissed students and ended school hours early due to rain, which ranged between heavy and medium yesterday morning.

The heavy rains led to the flow of valleys and reefs in the mountainous areas, causing slow traffic, and collecting water in the diversions leading to the area of ​​Qidfa, the village, courses and main and secondary streets and residential areas.

Some buses traveling to get students from the mountainous areas were accompanied by police patrols to make sure the road was clear of rocks and secured to cross the buses on roads where rainwater had accumulated in some valleys.

An official source at the Emirates Transport, East Coast Branch, said that the students were moved early as a precaution to avoid crossing any valley, which may cause delays in their arrival to their homes, pointing out that the kindergarten students in Al-Badia, Masafi kindergarten and Rumaitha Al-Ansariya school in Murabed Al-Hala School in Dibba Fujairah, Rawdat Al-Twain, Al-Nahwa School, Al-Diyar School, Al-Bahar School for Basic Education, Zaid Bin Al-Khattab School for Basic Education and James Winchester School in Fujairah. The students were ordered to take their children home.

He added that school students were dispensed for several reasons, including the passage of valleys through the roads leading to them, and heavy rainfall accompanied by the fall of hail beads, in addition to that kindergarten students need special attention when transporting them from schools to their homes, especially with the fall of rain and bad weather The accumulation of rain water in main roads and inland, explaining that the mountainous areas in the eastern region, has been a top priority in the transfer of students, because of the rough roads, in addition to the accumulation of large amounts of water.

He pointed out that the drivers were instructed to stop the buses completely, and not to move in cases of heavy fog or any weather fluctuations, in appropriate parking off the road, and safely, to ensure that no collision from other vehicles, while keeping the air conditioning and external lighting of the bus in the state of operation Downtime, the driver does not leave the driving seat.

He added that school transport drivers and supervisors alert students to commit to sit on the seats, and not be allowed to get out of the bus, to ensure their safety in cases of heavy rain and fog, and informs the driver in charge of the school transportation station management of any delay in the arrival of the bus on time or any other emergency, To inform school administrations of the delay.

The Ministry of Education, in cooperation with the Emirates Transport, has authorized school administrations to take the necessary measures, and give them the authority to disburse students when needed, in accordance with weather developments, to ensure maximum safety for students.
