After the disappearance from the housing in Kortedala in Gothenburg, a preliminary investigation into murder was initiated, and a year later, the police received a detailed tip that the man had been murdered and stabbed by two people. One of the two suspected offenders was named in the same tip.

In 2018, a man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of murder. A house search found blood and tissue debris from the missing 31-year-old on exercise gear and on a piece of furniture. Another man, this 35-year-old, was arrested in July this year.

During the investigation, the police conducted searches in watercourses and on fire sites, but no body was found.

The trial starts on October 8 in Gothenburg District Court.
