The speech of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky at the 74th session of the UN General Assembly was propaganda and distracted attention from the main agenda. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova on the air of the program “60 minutes” on the channel “Russia 1”.

“The question is not the beauty of the phrases and the beauty of the quotes, the question is the vision of the development of the world and the contribution of one’s own state to the solution of the largest world or regional issues. Of course, you need to talk about yourself, about your countries, or about the unification of countries, but (don’t. - RT ) come with this propaganda tinsel and, moreover, focus, diverting attention from the main thing, but this was done, ” she said.

Earlier Zelensky during his speech accused Russia of "aggression" against Ukraine. To do this, he cited as an example the famous Ukrainian opera singer Vasily Slipak, who performed at leading world venues and was a soloist of the Paris National Opera.

He died in 2016 in the Donbass, taking part in the hostilities against the militia of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk people's republics. Vladimir Zelensky showed those present a bullet that allegedly killed Slipak.

“This is a Ukrainian, a soloist of the Paris National Opera, who died in the Donbass, protecting Ukraine from Russian aggression,” Zelensky said.

Zakharova noted that the Ukrainian president did not tell the audience that Slipak voluntarily joined the nationalist organization “Right Sector” * and went to fight in the Donbass.

“This is not a singer, this is not an opera diva who accidentally fell victim - this is a person who made a choice, took a side in the fratricidal war, and this side was definitely not under some correct, high slogans, and we all know perfectly well that is the "Right Sector". For some reason, this was also not said from the UN high rostrum, ”said Zakharova.

According to the diplomat, such turns in Zelensky’s speech speak about the inexperience of his team, as well as the presence of former associates of ex-president Petro Poroshenko among him.

“It seems to me that everything that was prepared for Zelensky at the UN General Assembly is just such a setup,” Zakharova emphasized.

Zelensky was expected to come up with new approaches to Russia, rather than using Poroshenko’s “tricks,” said Alexei Pushkov, chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Information Policy, in turn.

“With the shot pieces of the bus and the bullet pierced by the banner of the European Union, he liked to speak in international audiences of Poroshenko. Zelensky with a bullet - a pale copy. How they could expect new approaches from the new president, rather than hackneyed tricks and annoying many complaints about Russia, ”he wrote on Twitter.

Recall that in 2017, Poroshenko, speaking at the UN, from the rostrum showed the passports of the supposedly Russian military who are fighting in the Donbass. And at the forum in Swiss Davos, he showed a fragment of a bus that allegedly fired on Russia in the Donbass.

Note that then the Russian Foreign Ministry requested real copies of documents, however, there was no response from Ukraine.

“Last night we asked the Ukrainian side to provide real copies of documents with surnames, since the crusts that were shown yesterday can also be bought on the market. There is no real evidence, as of today, the Ukrainian side could not provide copies of these documents, ”said Viktor Sorokin, director of the second department of the CIS Ministry.

Speaking about the fragment of the bus that Poroshenko demonstrated, the former Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Vitaliy Churkin noted that at the dates indicated by the Ukrainian president and in the designated region, according to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the shelling went from a direction where “it is unlikely could there be militias?

“The terrible incident that occurred on January 13 with a passenger bus near Vlnovakha was used by Kiev to instantly, without investigation and trial, accuse the militias of this crime,” Churkin emphasized then.

In addition, Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly reminded that there are no Russian troops in the Donbass, and Russia itself is not a party to the conflict.

Vladimir Zelensky in New York also spoke about a short conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who represents Russia at the UN General Assembly. They met on the sidelines of the GA, and the Ukrainian leader shared about the content of the conversation during a press conference following talks with US President Donald Trump.

Zelensky claims that Lavrov congratulated him on a successful exchange of held persons and said that Moscow would like to end the conflict in eastern Ukraine. In turn, the Ukrainian president, in his own words, called on the Russian side to "give" territory to Kiev.

“Yes, please, our side, we are doing everything, this is our country, this is our land. If you are ready, then let's end the war? We will give us our territories, exchange people, ”Zelensky cited his words.

“It would be more correct to say that they eliminated the terrorist”

The similarity of the rhetoric and manner of speaking Zelensky and Poroshenko drew attention to the Ukrainian political scientist and economist Alexander Dudchak.

“Unfortunately, nothing is changing. And the hope that Poroshenko’s policy will end with his departure is completely not justified. We see the same cheap tricks and a demonstration of some items on the UN rostrum. This, of course, is completely inappropriate and disgusting ... for some reason, he called the singer, although he shot at civilians in Donbass, ”he told RT.

According to Dudchak, Zelensky during his speech could create an impression of himself as a statesman, and not of a "cheap lyceum who repeats the tragic mistakes of his predecessor."

“Of course, it would be more correct to say that they eliminated the terrorist who shot civilians, who also sings. But no, instead Zelensky mentioned only one side of this person’s personality. Well yes, he was a singer, among other things. But this does not mean at all that the singers cannot join the forbidden organizations and be killed in connection with this, ”Dudchak stated.

Zelensky’s general anti-Russian rhetoric fits into the same outline as Kiev’s foreign policy since the coup in 2014, political analyst Ivan Mezyuho noted. In a conversation with RT, he admitted that, as the socio-economic situation in Ukraine worsens, Zelensky will increasingly switch to anti-Russian rhetoric.

“He adheres to the course of the country, taken after the coup of 2014, and now it’s not necessary to say that this course will be changed. I think that in the future, with the aggravation of the socio-economic situation in the country, Vladimir Zelensky will increasingly turn to anti-Russian rhetoric to justify his failures, ”the analyst said.

Mezuho is convinced that Western countries do not care about Slipak’s membership in the organization of right-wing radicals, which is much more important for them - Kiev’s support for the anti-Russian course.

“In fact, the West does not care about such details. The West will replicate the speech of Zelensky, accusing Russia. The main thing for the West is maintaining the anti-Russian course by the Ukrainian state, and Vladimir Zelensky is coping with this mission, ”the expert concluded.
