In total, the municipalities in Halland have the opportunity to apply for SEK 138 million in government grants to a more equal school. For the municipality of Hylte, this is about SEK 8160 in grants per pupil, a total of around SEK 12 million. Right now, the municipality of Hylte is faced with making savings of SEK 39 million, which among other things leads to the municipality having to cut down on the number of student assistants.

The state grant can be used for new bets or to extend existing substitutions. This means that the money cannot be used to cover the savings the municipality is facing.

"That's the dilemma now when we are facing reducing costs," says Maria Hedin (S), adding:

But she still says that she thinks they will apply for the grant and that they will now collect proposals from the schools to see what efforts they can make.
