Timofeeva noted that German is one of the major functionaries of the Party of Regions, and, according to the parliamentarian, her comment should be considered in the key to understanding the processes that have developed in Ukraine over the past 10-15 years.
“What she says comes from assessments of the actions of certain people with a history in time,” the senator explained.
She admitted that Pristayko’s previously accumulated “baggage” could give all grounds for such comments.
Timofeeva also emphasized that not only the desire of the authorities as a whole is important to improve relations between Russia and Ukraine.
“Sometimes one person who is completely given the full opportunity to maneuver can either build normal relations or completely destroy them. One person can sometimes bring both a lot of benefits and a lot of harm, ”she concluded.
Earlier, ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy Anna German called Zelensky’s mistake in relations with Russia.
She also expressed the opinion that the Zelensky team does not have a clear strategy and supporters of the president do not know "where to lead the country."
Foreign Minister of Ukraine Vadim Pristayko noted the "thaw" in relations between Moscow and Kiev.
