The incident occurred after an all-Swedish match at Stadion against AIK on April 9, 2018. In connection with a dispute between some MFF supporters at Ståplatstorget, civilian police intervened. The police officers must have acted particularly aggressively towards supporters and MFF staff.

Now it is clear that the police have not committed any crimes, as stated in a press release signed by the Police, Malmö FF and MFF Support.

"Unacceptable and disproportionate behavior"

- Despite the fact that the prosecutor has come to this conclusion, I still want to emphasize from the police that in some of the situations there is an act of civilian dressed police who is unacceptable and disproportionate, says Mats Karlsson, commander-in-chief at the incident.

He adds that since the incident, the police have taken internal measures to prevent similar situations in the future.

Looks positive on collaboration

Both Malmö FF and MFF Support write that they feel it is positive that the police admit that they have acted incorrectly and emphasize the importance of future dialogue between the parties.

On Thursday, Malmö FF receives Helsingborgs FF at Stadion - a derby match which traditionally entails a great deal of participation from both supporters and the police.
