It was during Friday morning that an alarm about gas odor led to Ica Maxi in Kungsbacka being evacuated. The rescue service worked with the police to locate where the smell came from.

Quite quickly it was found that the smell came from the mortgage station inside the store.

Leaked from a tipped bottle

At five o'clock, the police could announce that someone had stuffed a bottle containing some type of liquid into the vending machine. When the bottle has traveled on the tape and is compressed by the machine, the liquid, which may have been dangerous or corrosive, has landed in a container.

If this has happened by mistake or intentionally, the police do not yet know. A preliminary investigation has been initiated and the event is classified as causing danger to another. The police have no suspect in the case.

Unclear what kind of topic

The contents of the bottle are sent for analysis.

"It has been determined that it is some type of sulfur compound, but it gives too large a spectrum to say exactly what substance it is," the rescue service said earlier in the day.
