The Lebanese army on Wednesday fired at an Israeli reconnaissance aircraft over southern Lebanon after it "violated Lebanese airspace," the official NNA news agency and a military source said.

The official news agency said the reconnaissance aircraft was flying over the southern town of Adaysa "in violation of Lebanese airspace."

A Lebanese military source told Agence France Presse that "at eight o'clock, only one third of the local time saw a Lebanese army post in the town of al-Adaysa in southern Lebanon fired a plane and returned to the occupied territories," adding that "the shooting comes within the framework of previous instructions that any An Israeli move inside Lebanese territory is immediately shot. "

Al-Jazeera correspondent reported that the Israeli army acknowledged that a drone came under fire in southern Lebanon, but ended its mission without damage.

The Lebanese army's move comes after Sunday's attack by an armed drone that landed in the southern suburbs of Beirut, a Hezbollah stronghold, and attributed the organization and the Lebanese authorities to Israel.

The Lebanese Supreme Council of Defense on Tuesday affirmed Lebanon's right to self-defense "by all means" days after accusing Israel of sending two drones to Beirut's southern suburb and one of them exploding.

Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah vowed to respond to the attack "at all costs," noting that one of the planes "hit a certain place", without giving any further details about the target.

Hezbollah announced on Tuesday that the two planes were loaded with explosives, the first fell due to technical failure, while the second exploded.

In response to Lebanese warnings, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday warned Lebanon, Hezbollah and the Iranian Qods Force to "be careful" in their words and actions.
