Dubai Municipality reported that its slaughterhouses slaughtered 17,500 sacrifices during the days of Eid al-Adha.

Abdulla Al Abbasi, Acting Director of the Municipality's Abattoirs Department, told Emirates Today that the Municipality has taken several measures to facilitate the slaughter of the sacrificial animals, including the operation of additional halls to provide the service, and the operation of temporary abattoirs, such as the rapid shed and Khawaneej shed, and provide additional labor to accommodate the expected congestion. It also provided additional veterinarians to ensure the examination of sacrificial animals before and after slaughter, and to provide intensive pre-season labor training.

The municipality has a special section for the management and operation of its shrines, using the latest tools, equipment and health equipment, and adherence to the requirements and standards related to the provision of slaughtering services in accordance with the provisions of Islamic Sharia. The slaughtering service provided by the abattoir includes veterinary inspection of livestock, to ensure their safety before and after slaughter, and to save the carcasses in the refrigerators and delivery to the customer.
