In Burkina Faso, eleven people were found dead Monday (July 15th) at the police's anti-drug unit in Ouagadougou. They had been held in police custody as part of a national police investigation. The prosecutor announced that an investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances of these deaths.

Those found dead on Monday are part of a group of individuals arrested Friday, Saturday and Sunday in a survey on trafficking and drug use .

Several people, including customers, resellers, suppliers and consumers, had fallen into the hands of the anti-drug unit, according to a security source.

The Faso prosecutor informs that an investigation was immediately opened to determine the circumstances of these deaths. Forensic scientists have begun examinations and autopsies of bodies.

Several suspects arrested in the same case were admitted to health centers for further tests to find out if their lives are not in danger.

" We have to know quickly if these people have not swallowed drug capsules or other dangerous substances ," adds our security source.
